What’s a homelab?

oro7ine :

null :

I just got 6 mini pc’s, 2 HP gen 9 servers and 5 switches free from work, home lab boutta draw so much power

unsowne :

its so refreshing seeing an actual homelab and not some random solar system ui rack with zero practical applications

JonathansBuild :

Don’t get me wrong I absolutely love homelabbing, but there always seems to be another thing to research.

blahblahblah :

what are these used for, genuinely curious?

My Ceilium :

What’s the point of all the patch cables?

Zachery :

How much was it? I think my hobby is more expensive.

Jake :

How's the JetKVM? I've been considering one for a while now

hamburger_help_me :

I backed the jetkvm on Kickstarter. The hardware is very polished but I feel the software lacks compared to the GLi.net comet or pikvm.

Louis Jade :

What do you use it for

Jabba :

Wife and I just moved into our new house. I installed network drops and APs in the house. House just got finished being built last month

Deadite :

Zet08 :

KingSpectrum :

toilette :

titanbuilder1 :

Love the JetKVM. One of the only times I've bought into a product on Kickstarter.

I see this feature on every home lab, but I can never figure out the purpose; the short network cables that loop back in to the lab; what is their function?

XgYoda :

Cool

PinkyWinkyTinky :

I just started, any tips? I have Ubuntu running on a MINISFORUM M1-1295 mini PC with 64gb ram and a 2tb ssd.

Nathaniel Elias80 :
