Best feeling is when people think they know what they’re talking about and you pull out the receipts. I have a 68 Firebird with the same issue, I’m curious to see what finally frees it up for you.

so I'm confused if this is a project why aren't you just pulling the engine and tearing it apart because aren't you going to put a new engine in or rebuilding anyways why all the huff and puff

So the reason it’s in the valley is because it came from you pouring it under the valve covers not the carb

The intake feeds the intake ports in the heads, if a valve is open it goes into the cylinder. If the motor was properly sealed and assembled pouring something Into the carb will NOT go into the valley, if it did, then while the motor was running there would be gasoline getting into the oil and destroying the lubricant properties of it. Pouring oil or ANYTHING into the carb SHOULD NOT go into the valley. That’s just not the anatomy of a motor

My grandpa used to pour transmission fluid down the carb. Give it a few days. Worked 9 outta 10 times.

I mean most people who think they know engines would assume that the oil came into the lifter galley from when you poured it into the rocker assembly. But you ain't fooling me that oil came from what you poured down the throat of that carburetor. Keep the videos coming my man!

When you poured it over the lifters is when that got in there, not from the carburetor, btw. That would have went down the intake holes on the side there. Just saying

If the dissolver went down the intake and somehow got to the lifters you have a bigger problem.
