Nicomachean Ethics summed up in a couple sentances so YOU yes you don’t have to read it. Aristotle argues against Plato’s famous “Nobody knowingly does evil” by putting forth “akrasia” when one does something evil against their better judgement. There are four types of people: vicious, incontinent, continent, virtuous (there are two others but it doesn’t matter for these purposes) vicious does bad things and doesn’t feel guilt, incontinent does bad things and feels guilt, continent does good things through conscious effort, virtuous by practicing conscious effort no longer needs to “struggle” to make the good choice, they are committed to reaching the end goal “Eudaemonia” where they do what is both good and right/just.

I'm not the type of guy who comments about the Bible but.... like.... it says the same thing. Those who want a good starting point read Matthew using the NIrV version. Be curious. Even critical.

solomon also wrote about this in the book of Proverbs and Jesus Christ also spoke about this in his parables but true change is through Christ and his certification and his resurrection

A bit misleading ,please read the book and not the Ai summary.
1. Moral virtue is treated as a skill. That's true, but it's not as easy as just training. Elements of external goods(wealth, health, friends) are needed as well as higher virtues.
2. Phronesis specifically is needed. It is practical wisdom. It comes from learning, teaching, experience, and reflection. That takes time. It also requires a choice to do so on our part. It also isn't obvious. Courage for example is not a clear thing. When are we reckless, when are we cowards? To what degree?
3. Aristotle believed Eduomonia was the goal not "happiness". It is not emotion or a feeling, it is a state of being. Specifically he thought Eduomonia was reached when we have "sophia". Theoretical wisdom. This is the highest good to him. This virtue is when we are closest to what we call God today. It brings scientific knowledge and intuition to understand the truths of the cosmos. We try to understand and answer the question of why to it all.

I think many people mix up "happiness" with "satisfaction" and that gets them caught in loops. this can cause stagnation in growth, instant gratification is not (entirely) conducive to growth
