@moviewarspodcast: Adam G. Simon @adambelgabe stopped by again, and we covered EVERYTHING. Here, he blew my mind, showing what's behind the smoke and mirrors of inflated movie budgets. What he describes is a commission scheme by the rich and untalented who want their names on the credits with little contribution otherwise. Budgets increase so that finders fees and commissions get bigger. Little do they know, everyone is on the take. Make sure to follow @s2l_entertainment for updates on his multiple projects, including his directing debut, "UNDER." #FilmIndustry #MovieProduction #BehindTheScenes #Filmmaking #IndustryInsights
The Weight - starring Ethan Hawke.. first 2 to 3 minutes of the movie was all production companies 🤣 the movie was dope though

I’m a screenwriter and when I write on spec, as long as I own the property, I’m not attaching more than two producers. After it sells and it’s no longer mine I can’t control it but when I see specs sell that already have like five producers on board I’m like what is the point of this?

Welcome to independent financing. And no, as someone who’s gotten associate producer credits I’ve only gotten them because I’ve connected someone to something and there is no “back end” most of us do not get back end, and it’s so rare to even get back end these days. The reason why there’s 40 + producers is because they are literally piecing together funds to get a movie made with out the studios we all know how difficult to get a movie off the ground is

So many “finders fees” to spread around but not a single penny to find someone in charge of transparency or accountability! The irony 🤔

I always find it funny, I get called as a composer to look at movies like this. They’ll feign being broke . . . I KNOW those 8 producers are making their nut on this. Buuuuut
