I started taking Adderall when I was diagnosed at 35. In my fifties I developed leukemia and the cancer medication caused brain damage. My ability to think clearly and remember things were severely damaged. They called it chemo fog. I have a great family doctor I took the list side effects of the cancer medication and said can I take anything that will help with these. He prescribed generic provigil. What a lifesaver. I have always struggled with procrastination even when taking Adderall. but there was something about provigil they gave me the dopamine boost I needed to celebrate when I completed tasks I could make a list of things to get done and move through the list one step at a time. A few years later I added lion's mane mushrooms you can get them in a vitamin capsule. And that began to restore my short-term memory. I think, remember and process information better now at age 72 than ever before. I look forward to finding out more how about this new medication that may come out soon. Never give up on an opportunity to improve your brain.
