I took a group of exchange students to Dinosaur National Monument to explore Utah’s ancient history and to show them how our town got the nickname of Dinosaurland. 🦖🦕 This is something I’ve done with my exchange students before. We always have fun, which we definitely did this time too, but this time, things got a little weird. 😂😬😳 We started at exhibit hall, where you can see several hundred dinosaur bones on display. As we traveled back in time, my girls let me know exactly how old they thought I was. 😩 Then the girls explored the exhibit, with Issa deciding everything needed to be licked (she only licked people and rocks, no actual fossils). I honestly couldn’t explain what’s happening in half these pictures or videos, but we were all definitely entertained. 😂 It’s a good thing the place was mostly empty. Then we went down to the gift shop where the girls were able to create their own dinosaur drawings to hang on the board. I love that they each made theirs country specific. 🇫🇷🇰🇿🇺🇦 Finally we went to look at an ancient alcove called a swelter shelter, about 7,000 years old, filled with petroglyphs that are about 1,000 years old. For some reason, I decided to make this Anya’s new exchange home and a real estate tour ensued, complete with a multi use rock “table” that could have many uses, including a sacrificial basin. Then the girls decided to sacrifice Aziza and it just got more strange but hilarious. 🤣🤪🤭 It was a blast to enjoy these girls and their fun personalities. I laughed so much, but had to fight back tears, knowing goodbyes are coming soon. I will treasure the laughter shared that day, as well as the memories we made. 💕❤️💕 #exchangestudentlife #hostfamily #exchangestudent #exchangefamily #hostmom #exchangeyear #hostanexchangestudent #hostfamilyusa #weirdos #dinosaurnationalmonument
