@usanm1881: Angel Fire, New Mexico, was reportedly the coldest location in the contiguous United States Saturday morning, October 17. The northern New Mexico mountain community, situated at more than 8,000 feet in elevation, is known for its exceptionally cold mornings as dense, cold air settles into the Moreno Valley. Meteorologist Chris Nunley reported the national distinction Saturday, putting the small New Mexico community ahead of locations across the other 47 contiguous states. VIA: NWS
