Kids let their biggest, messiest feelings out with the people they love, trust and feel safe with. It hurts because you clearly adore her and love your family fiercely. Last week, a first grader yelled “F*CK ASS, MS. AMANDA!” because I told him to stop running in the library, then crawled into my lap and asked if I would be his friend 😂 Haven is going through some BIG changes, and you, friend, have a history of being entirely too hard on yourself. You don’t have to hold it all together every minute just because you’re the dad. I have an entire lecture prepared about the garbage the patriarchy teaches men, but I’ll spare you today. You deserve the same grace and kindness you’re trying to give everyone else. Get some sleep. ❤️Sending big hugs from St. Louis, even if you are a Cubs fan. Nobody’s perfect 😉
