My mother actually stuck a plugged in and on curling iron in a couch on Mother’s Day in 1991. Burned the whole place down. I am so paranoid I unplug any hot tool religiously. Kinda funny though, that the article popped up in ancestry when I started doing a family tree 😅

haha I bought my wife wifi plugs. she can control everything with her phone from anywhere. if she has the doubt she can cut power from the source

ok doing this FOR YOURSELF especially if you live BY YOURSELF or no one is home is a legit valid way to help with anxiety symptoms, OCD symptoms etc. Doing this because of someone else gaslighting you so you need proof for yourself or to prove to the other person is... i have no words...

My ex took things, hid things, etc and drove me crazy. We “lost” a plate. Somehow one of our plates went missing overnight. Just…poof. Never found it. That was the first time. Even did it to my rings.

I do something similar for anxiety reasons. When I’m packing for a trip, I always either FaceTime my mom or send a video of where I’m putting my passport so that I don’t panic when I’m looking for it.

Whenever I was the last person to leave my house, I would take a pic of the garage door being closed and throughout my drive I would be like “but did I actually close it” and then I would check my pictures. I have so many closed garage door pics on my phone now 😂😂

I have ocd and I have to do a video walk through my house every morning so I can prove to myself later that I didn’t accidentally turn on the stove before work and forget about it or something equally ridiculous. It’s so frustrating

my ex husband would hide my meds, I would completely empty every container looking for them, I kept them on my desk in a container and he would go in there and "find" them in the exact bin i had just completely emptied out twice.

there are outlets you can buy that connect to your wifi and an app. you now have complete remote access to them in the app wherever you are. if I think i left my straightener on, I check my app and can turn it off 😁

I would do that with the iron...then I started saying 'I unplugged the iron when I ironed this green shirt" which was what I was wearing... I have an auto shutoff iron😂😂😂
