@adezis: Again, we lost another veteran actress at 100 😔 Veteran actress Betty McGuire has passed away at 100, closing a remarkable journey that moved from the Broadway stage to classic films and decades of American television. Before many viewers knew her as Kate Malone, Maggie’s mother on Growing Pains, McGuire had already built an extensive stage career. Her Broadway credits included productions of Plain and Fancy, Auntie Mame, Gypsy, Mame and Oliver!, performing alongside some of theater’s biggest names. Her screen career eventually reached everything from sitcoms and medical dramas to horror and science fiction. Some of her best-known roles included: - Kate Malone — Growing Pains - Sister Mary Quacker — Up in Smoke - Nurse — Coma - Tonie — Switchblade Sisters - Mrs. Fraser — Falcon Crest - Trudy Sandler — Hill Street Blues - Vayna — Star Trek: Deep Space Nine - Mrs. Merritt — Wishmaster - Rosemary — Moonlighting - Bird Lady — MacGyver McGuire’s career stretched across generations so completely that one audience could remember her from Broadway, another from ’70s cinema, and another as part of the Seaver family. A century of life, decades of characters, and more than one generation with a reason to remember her. Rest in peace, Betty McGuire 🕊️🖤 #breakingnews #broadway #anotherlegendgone #startrekfans #fyppppppppppppppppppppppp
