WHO IS ABDUL EL-SAYED? THE DOCTOR SHAKING UP AMERICAN POLITICS Could Abdul El-Sayed become one of the most influential progressive voices in American politics? Abdul El-Sayed is a 41-year-old American physician, epidemiologist, author and Democratic politician of Egyptian heritage. Born and raised in Michigan, he has built his career around public health, economic inequality and political reform.
