@tarajonassen: The body of Kenneth Joseph MacAulay, a 66-year-old man from Souris, Prince Edward Island, has been recovered months after a workplace accident at Alberta’s Fort Hills oilsands operation near Fort McMurray. MacAulay was working at the Suncor Energy site on January 13, 2026, when the heavy equipment he was operating sank into the muskeg. His family learned on Tuesday that emergency workers had finally recovered his body. 🕊️ His wife and stepdaughters described him as a devoted family man, loyal friend and valued member of the Alcoholics Anonymous community. They thanked the emergency workers for their dedication and said the recovery brings hope for some closure after nine heartbreaking months. ⚖️ Alberta Occupational Health and Safety is still investigating the accident. No charges have been issued.
