I make sure I know where my 9 are—one sometimes tries to make a run for it. The other thinks my getting dressed to leave the house means I’m going to abduct her to the vet (she gets routine injections for her arthritis) and is suspicious if I approach her sometimes, but is often in the window so I can tap the glass goodbye as I go to my car walking past the window.

if you say a particular phrase every time you leave for say work, it helps them know when you'll be home. I always say "be good be smart be safe dont fight dont kill each other dont eat each other and be..........nice"
