Some cool fabric draping and lights to make it feel like the coolest blanket fort. If it’s not a surprise let them each pick out a fun over side pillow to put in. Then from there let the use their imagination for what they want to do in the space. Endless open ended play options.

at the end put a 2 cube storage for toys. mount a smart tv on the slanted ceiling and put a blow up mattress or comfy thin mattress with comfy blankets and pillows and put white christmas lights around the edges of the walls.

We put a window in the space under our stairs, and then had puppet shows, and drama shows and sort of things when the kids were little
