@news.hunter.fast: Eric Dane Says He Felt “Expendable” After Leaving Grey’s Anatomy, in His Memoir Released After His D*ath Eric Dane looked back on his time on Grey’s Anatomy in his memoir, My Book of Days: A Memoir in Moments. It will be published nearly nine months after he d*ed at age 53. An excerpt was shared by People on Sunday, Oct. 18. Dane writes about a relapse in 2008. “My body goes to s***. I drop to 170,” he wrote. “My attitude on set changes.” He played Dr. Mark Sloan. He writes that he went to treatment five times during the show. He says he stayed sober on set and did his best to manage his addiction. But he also says he felt ready to leave the character after eight years. “I don’t know how to get off that train,” he wrote. At the end of season 8 in 2012, creator Shonda Rhimes told him Mark Sloan would not return. Dane writes that the exit was not because of his addiction, “although it’s safe to say my addiction didn’t help.” He alleges it came down to money. “Despite Mark Sloan’s popularity, I have become too expensive. I have become expendable,” he wrote. Dane and Chyler Leigh later returned for a dream sequence in season 17. His family shared a statement in February after his d*ath. It said he spent his final days with friends, his wife, and his daughters, Billie and Georgia. It also said he became an advocate for ALS awareness and research. How do you think shows should handle actors who are struggling? #EricDane #GreysAnatomy #Book #TV #Show

🤭 :
To be fair, a lot of characters die in Grey’s Anatomy so in a way, everyone is technically expendable
