@akreportshere: There will be an increase in security and resources at Colonie Central High School on Monday after a viral video circulating online of students saying the n-word. The South Colonie Central School District said it is aware of a potential student protest at dismissal. Starting at the beginning of the day, there will be a heightened presence from Colonie Police Department members, the school safety team and district administration. There will also be small-group discussions facilitated by administrators to, "...give students the opportunity to express their concerns, discuss solutions, and reinforce expectations for respectful behavior." The district reiterated the language in last week's video does not reflect school values and that students protesting have the right to express their views as long as it done safely without disrupting the school day.
