@andruyeung: Anthropic just released a report discussing the future of entry-level jobs. This is based on historical data with an extrapolation into the future. If you are young and ambitious, you should watch this. #Tech #careers #jobs #Ai #prediction
A report by Anthropic says that AI saves money. OK, I get it.

Entry level jobs haven’t existed for a long time. Most entry level jobs still require you to have gained the skills/competencies needed for the job from somewhere. That won’t go away. The senior people working with AI instead of juniors will eventually retire and need to be replaced.

It seems you don't get it: >90% of people today are employees that will lose their jobs. Only a minor % will start their own business. If say 80% of young people can't find a job - that's a huge problem. But the real challenge is that entire social system has to change when AI and robots replace most human labor

to say build your own business as an alternative is ridiculous thing to say. most businesses fail today, and it not because of the idea, or execution. just think in one street 100 new restaurant come, and repeat that to all other streets , how many will succeed? NONE., because not one will get enough business to succeed.

The issue I have with this argument is that it implicitly assumes that people in senior roles will be around… forever. Who fills those senior role when those people move on? It’s working now being those seniors exist, but see how that logic becomes unsustainable with current practice. Either the practices change or the technology adoption changes

Don’t take notice of platforms’ reports. It needs to be independent research.

Graduate here who did a startup run - its not enough to get a job. I even did an internship afterwards. Certifications. I got straight A’s. You have to create your own job I suppose.

Tbh companies like Google and Microsoft also usually hire people with over 5 years of experience even for entry level positions if it’s not a graduate or intern

With the global state of the economy and people’s decreasing purchasing power, there is absolutely zero need for more businesses selling us things we don’t need.

If it were to be true that modern entry roles get erased: Most people have no idea how, let alone the desire or competitiveness, to start a business. If the only challenge for the avg person in business ownership was hiring. Sure you might be right. But obviously you know that’s not the case. For the folks that wanted to start, this will accelerate them. Commodities with the ability to be accelerated by AI will hyper commoditize or completely differentiate. Work shifts up across the board, assuming ai can execute. The only somewhat prediction we can make for the avg person is think of role or business model where a human (or human experience) is the differentiator. Any other prediction is a decade+ blind guess. To be fair that is a prediction in itself so perhaps I’m wrong too. Thoughts?
