Where is this in Pittsburgh specifically? I grew up in Green Tree and every so often, late at night, our house would shake and we’d hear a train whistle coming from under it. My dad always said there were old mines under our house. We were fairly close to Parkway Center, where the mall was built on an old trash dump, so I’ve always wondered if there was truth to it.

There’s a gazillion of these old mines in Pittsburgh that’s why houses keep falling through the ground on Mount Washington. I used to live on West Sycamore, the house on the end of my street was there one day and the next it was gone.
