@newstigo: 🚨 RELIGIOUS TRAGEDY: A tragic and deeply shocking incident has left the Catholic community in mourning after a parish priest was fatally struck by a massive wooden crucifix during a livestreamed evening Mass in Guayaquil, Ecuador. The accident occurred at the Nuestra Señora del Perpetuo Socorro Church (Our Lady of Perpetual Help) in the Central Vicariate while the service was being broadcast live on social media. Father Patricio Alfredo Sánchez Molinari, 31, was leading prayers behind the altar and facing the congregation when the heavy, wall-mounted crucifix suddenly detached from its fixtures. Unaware of the danger behind him, the priest was struck directly on the head and back, causing him to instantly collapse near the pulpit. Panicked parishioners could be heard screaming and crying on the broadcast as several rushed to the altar to administer aid and call emergency services. Although first responders arrived quickly at the scene, the Archdiocese of Guayaquil later confirmed that Father Sánchez Molinari succumbed to his severe injuries. In a profound and chilling coincidence, witnesses noted that the priest had delivered a homily reflecting on the fleeting nature of human life and death just moments before the structural failure occurred.
