@deesstrokeofinsight: January 2024, my life changed in a way I never could have imagined. I survived a brutal stabbing that left me with a spinal cord injury, multiple strokes, and disabilities that changed almost every part of my life. I had to learn how to live in a body that no longer worked the way it once did. I fought to regain my strength, my movement, my independence, and pieces of myself I thought I had lost forever. I put in the work, embraced my sobriety, leaned on my faith, and refused to let the worst thing that ever happened to me become the end of my story. These lyrics hit differently when you’ve had to fight for your own life. When you’ve had to rebuild yourself physically, mentally, and spiritually. The scars on my body tell a story of survival.
