"verity..?" i immediately step closer to him when i see his tears. "oh.. oh no." i panic internally, not knowing what to do. verity was just... sobbing out his feelings. "verity.." i tried to wipe his tears on his yellow, rounded cheeks with my thumb, when he flinched away from me. "gh... GAH! don't... DON'T TOUCH ME!" he yelled out, sobbing even more. "verity, it's okay! it's me, Y/N!" i smiled a bit, hopefully he'll give in and let me help him. verity slowly turned his head to me, and when he realized it was me he yelled at, he suddenly wrapped his arms around me. crying in my arms. after a few seconds of my silence, i gave him the embrace he really, really needed. "Y-Y/N... I'm so sorry... I didn't mean to shout at you, i-i..." he sniffled, voice muffled from his face still hiding on my chest. "shh... shh... it'll be okay. don't blame yourself." i hummed his favorite song to calm him down, and after a few minutes, he did. "Oh.. Y/N, about earlier..-" i cut him off. he was apologizing nonstop, and i get it. he didn't mean to do that! he was just... tired of everything. tired of being used, of being just... a helper players got rid of when he became 'useless' in their eyes. but it's all fine now, at least he had you... right? "you don't need to apologize, verity. it's all fine. you didn't mean to shout, and you were overwhelmed with everything." i gave him a small smile, and he gave one back, but i could tell he still felt worried for me. "trust me, verity." i grinned up at him. "i trust you." he spoke. ...was all he thought of as he visited my- our old, abandoned house. it was all empty, but he could still remember the laughter, the enjoyment, the once very alive home that turned into a silent, a bit dead one that he still visited every month. to remember my voice. my scent. my appearance. the problem was, he was starting to forget them. i made a promise, and i also broke it. just like the last people he met before me. before mob. to get rid of him, and then what? he's off to meet another player, someone that he hopes will stay with him. and he'll keep searching for them. okay that's it thx for reading sorry 4 bad grammar heh
