There is nothing more we can do… She’s worked so hard to get to this point, and tomorrow, hopefully, all of that hard work will pay off and my incredible wife’s dream of becoming an IRONMAN will come to true!🤞 It won’t be easy… We’ve set the alarm for 5:30am, then it’s as many flapjacks as she can stomach before heading to transition for final bike checks and nutrition drop off, then back to our Airbnb to get her wetsuit on, then off to the start line before 7am to drop her bag off, and she has to be there ready to start soon after. The 70.3 starts at 7:30am but the Full Ironman starts at 8:35am. It’s a rolling start, so Alice will be starting shortly after that. She will undertake a 2.4 mile sea swim, followed by a 112 mile bike ride, then finish with a marathon. She’s hoping to complete it in 13-14 hours and although I will be dedicating a series to this, you can actually track her progress LIVE on the Ironman app or on the official Ironman website. Literally type her number in, or even just her name, and you can keep upto date with how she’s getting on throughout the day/night. There are 5,500 people taking part from 93 different countries, and a very small percentage of them are women, and a much smaller percentage of them are mothers to three young children. I can’t force you to care, but I can tell you this… if you do care, tomorrow could be a pretty proud moment. I, for one, will probably break down when she crosses that finish line and I hear them say those words, “Alice Oliver, you are an Ironman!” Thank you again to each and every one of you for all of your love and support. It means so much.🙏❤️ #ironman #ironmantri #IRONMANCascais #ironmanportugal #proud @IRONMAN
