If you were to ask my children where the safest place in the world is they would say it’s with me - not their dad, although it is, but it’s me they feel the greatest protection from, it’s me they look to for guidance and support, it’s me they’ll ask for help from - I wouldn’t pigeonhole myself as feminine or masculine but I’m whatever I need to be in that moment. We are all a mixture of traits and this need to define them as masculine or feminine is really bizarre to me, we are all both to varying degrees and that just makes us people. Being born a woman doesn’t mean I’m born with personality traits that should only be specific to women. Society seems to be regressing at an alarming speed.

With my partner I’m the leader in some situations and not in others. Sometimes I’m the soft one and sometimes I’m the raging one. Both are normal. It’s called partnership. We share the load. Together. 💪❤️💪

Over the last ten or so years, I began to let my guard down around certain men I worked with, bc they were consistently kind, gentle, & not “looking for women”. ( they were straight). I could be my silly chatty friendly self & it wouldn’t be taken as flirting, I didn’t have to guard myself. If a customer yelled at me or got too aggressive they’d work the sale w/me without puffing up their chest, and getting loud. Truly, I felt the most secure around the opposites of patriarchy. It really helped a lot to experiencal knowledge that men r safe

This is what I was raised to believe BUT my parents were born in the 30's. It game is a lot of hurdles when I got married at 23. Fortunately, I married a man that helped me deconstruct in a positive way.
