🍽️ **Recipe Of The Day for Monday, October 19, 2026** **Drop Biscuits and Sausage Gravy** (Ree Drummond, The Pioneer Woman) No rolling pin, no cookie cutter, just drop the dough and smother it in peppery sausage gravy. That's a Monday breakfast that'll get the whole crew out the door happy. 🍳 ⏱️ Prep: 10 mins | Cook: 30 mins | Total: 40 mins | 🍴 Serves: 12 **Ingredients** *Biscuits* - 3 c. all-purpose flour - 2 tbsp. baking powder - 1/2 tsp. salt - 1 1/2 stick (3/4 cup) cold butter, cut into pieces - 1 1/4 c. buttermilk *Sausage Gravy* - 1 lb. breakfast sausage, hot or mild - 1/3 c. all-purpose flour - 4 c. whole milk - 1/2 tsp. seasoned salt - 2 tsp. black pepper, more to taste **Steps** 1. Heat the oven to 400°F. 2. Put the flour, baking powder and salt in a food processor (or a large bowl). Add the butter and pulse until it's completely cut in (or use a pastry cutter if you're using a bowl). Keep pulsing (or stirring) while you drizzle in the buttermilk, just until the dough comes together and isn't crumbly anymore. 3. Drop clumps of dough onto two baking sheets and bake 15 to 17 minutes, until golden brown. If you like, brush them with melted butter right when they come out of the oven. 4. Pinch the sausage into small pieces with your fingers and spread them in a single layer in a large heavy skillet. Brown over medium-high heat until no longer pink, then turn the heat down to medium-low. Sprinkle in half the flour and stir until the sausage soaks it up, then add a little more until just before it looks too dry. Cook and stir about a minute more, then pour in the milk, stirring the whole time. 5. Keep cooking, stirring often, until the gravy thickens, a good 10 to 12 minutes. Stir in the seasoned salt and pepper and keep cooking until it's very thick and luscious. If it gets too thick too soon, splash in 1/2 cup of milk or more. Taste and adjust the seasoning. 6. Spoon the sausage gravy over warm biscuits and serve right away.
