Humans can unfortunately make mistakes. Always advocate for yourself and your kiddos. I’m a huge science/doctor believer but I don’t trust them 100% you can’t trust anything or anyone 100% and it sounds like carelessness from the person who gave the injection

This is why I have a fear now of vaccinating... they administered the wrong vaccine at my daughter's 6 month appointment and they didn't catch it until I brought her back in sick and they noticed. I signed for the correct vaccine and also got symptom paperwork for the correct vaccine but somehow they mixed the vaccines up. The fear and anger I felt, as I'm a healthcare professional myself and have every vaccine....I was sobbing in the office while my husband was losing his crap. My daughter is now 18 months old and has had no vaccines since, the fear they put in to me was unimaginable.

As an outpatient pediatric RN. WTAF. I am so so sorry. I have given thousands of vaccines and couldn’t imagine doing anything that I wasn’t confident and competent in… Mistakes happen in healthcare all the time, but this was absolutely preventable and SHOULDN’T have happened. 💔

It’s always “listen to the proffesionals” until the “proffesionals” weren’t very “proffesional” nobody is an “expert” or a “professional” doctors are “practicing medicine” because they have not learned everything to know about science and our bodies that is just a word used to boast and hide behind a name it’s a false sense of security

In the future you can ask to see the vaccine before they give it. They are all labeled and unlike medications that have name brand vs generic names, vaccines will clearly state what they are. Hopefully that’ll ease any worries for future visits.

If this has given you ptsd which is so understandable.. ask the nurse or MA who gives you or baby the injections prior to look at them. The vaccines have labels and it can be so much more reassurance to see it’s the right ones. (As a peds MA)
