Had a patient post op his SECOND cardio Cath and he refused to stay even 24 hours. Cardiologist walked in the room with the AMA paperwork and said "So you want to die, eh?" I was new and was so shocked 😂

Had a patient calling the nursing station thinking she was calling the attending and saying we were holding her captive, threw a needle at us and then when we told her we weren’t getting blood anymore because she’s throwing needles she ran around the unit screaming.. asked to leave ama and I got the papers SOOO fast. Mind you she was there was she left AMA 45 minutes before that and came back ???

It’s triggering when the reason for DAMA is im feeling ok, yeah but actually you aren’t ok. its always one of those : impending septic shock or impending uremic encephalopathy, anuric with congested lungs.
