Two times in my life when I decided to do something, and I thought to myself after a few minute actually doing it, "what the hell did I do?" Was when I went into the Marines November 1969 and I stood on those yellow footprints in San Diego and the cattle cars and the other time was years later when I decided to jump out of a Cessna. Marine Pay back then for an E2 was $120 a month. $.25 beers that were 3.2% and $.25 to bowl a game on base and $2.50 for a carton of cigarettes.
