@tech360.tv: Why did his jet board catch fire? An AI worked it out — then coached him mid-flight through his earbuds. Song Xingyu, a self-taught maker in Badong, Hubei, fed the test data to a model that traced the fire to jets mounted too close together — exhaust bouncing off the ground and back into the intakes. He dropped jets for electric drive, then built a rig from two phones that watches the craft and calls corrections into his Bluetooth earbuds. He flew it over the Yangtze, through the town and along the Baren River canyon. The performance figures are his own and unverified, and none of this is certified hardware. Two phones, an off-the-shelf model, one person. The hard part was never lift.
