I thought with potatoes you had to wait until the leaves had died off first? I'm absolutely clueless, I've never grown them before. But have started learning this year, I've grown cucumbers, tomatoes, peppers and strawberries. Hoping to grow more next year (we're in the uk so need to wait until around March now)

Fun fact about peanuts- black farmers who grew cotton post slavery had to take breaks because cotton takes a lot of nutrients from the soil and it kept them in poverty. George Washington carver realized that peanuts put the nutrients back in and created products to make the growing of peanuts commercially viable like peanut butter, thereby giving black farmers an income during the off year. Eventually other farmers were doing this, and eventually we got Jimmy Carter the peanut farmer from Georgia.
