Engineer Amir :
Whatever the Bangladeshi couple did inside the mosque (or inside the Haram)—agreed, it was wrong and shouldn't have happened—but isn't the door to repentance always open? Most importantly, they were a legally married couple, were aware of their actions, and had come there for Umrah.
Are local Saudis not given to excess? Do they not commit mistakes? But the biggest issue is that Saudi authorities don't punish their own citizens as harshly. Instead, it seems their focus is on being excessively strict with Muslims visiting from foreign countries like Bangladesh, Pakistan, and others.
They should have thought this through and conducted a proper investigation first. Furthermore, the Bangladeshi Embassy in Saudi Arabia was neither informed nor consulted about the situation. What kind of justice or right is it to hand down direct punishments without proper process or notification?
