Sometimes it’s a long, contentious, unbearably painful battle that leaves you wondering how much more you can possibly endure. There were days I couldn’t imagine ever reaching the happier life I was fighting so hard to build. I couldn’t see the other side. I could barely see the next step. But slowly, one day at a time, I got there. Not all at once. Not without setbacks. And certainly not without scars.
