@8_bitmotors: Coasting in neutral burns MORE fuel ⛽ Lifting off in gear = zero fuel injected. Neutral = your engine idles and burns ~1 L/hour. The myth comes from old carburetor cars. Neutral or in gear: what does your dad do? 👇 #fuel #ecodriving #carmyths #carphysics #cars

fake if it would cut fuel the engine would die and if ur in gear its at 2k rps normaly but in nutral only at 800rps

Idk to me this sounds logical. Neutral to approach a red light=800rpm. Lower rpm less fuel. U leave it in 2nd engine braking from 1800->1100 sounds like more rotations(Rpms) meaning more fuel being squirted into the combustion chamber 🤷

this actually isn't true. DSG gearboxes coast to save fuel and it does save fuel

Yeah to this guy it’s better to let your vehicle on 8k rpm rather than 1k

in theory this is real bud reality is that most of the time you burn less in neutral

Overall still neutral is more fuel saving lets say a 10km road for 80%you give gas using a lot more then idling and then 0 usage for 20%, if in neutral you give gas for 60% of the road and idle for 40 percent, so with engine braking u use .8l to complete the 10 km with coasting in neutral u use .6l plus a bit of idling which wont take an hour so basicaly plus .09l

But those cars are have injectors can’t cut the fuel and most of the turbocharged engines have injectors

This is not true for a mechanical diesel or petrol. Also, it's not as simple even with a ECU vehicle as you'll get engine breaking, so yes you use some fuel to tick over, but that may be less than if you kept it in gear and then you slowed down quicker meaning you have to put power on again sooner
