Shortly after my wife's transition, my daughter's pediatrician asked us if we were divorcing. In front of my kid. I was like, uh...no? wtf? can my kid have her flu shot now please? 💀 I hate the assumption that if someone transitions in a marriage they automatically get divorced. My wife smiles more now and that's all I care about. Also my daughter loves having two moms, this house is so fkn pink

In my experience it was the opposite. I told my wife (mind you the FIRST person I said anything to about it besides my therapist) and she left me with a text message about 2 months later after “doing some research” whatever that means

Yeah, but that is also an extremely common issue for repressed queer people coming out later in life, trans or not. Settling into an "acceptable" relationship for appearances sake is found across all of queer history.

my trans aunt is technically still married to her wife but not really they both have separate dating lives because my trans aunt is also lesbian and my aunt is a supporter but is straight but they still raise their son together

i feel like this is such a odd take because some couples divorce and some couples stay together forever, that’s just life. trans people are just people. they aren’t immune to divorce, nor are they prone to it. you & your wife are the cutest! i am wishing you both all of the love & happiness ♥️
