Last month I visited Harriet Tubman’s chosen home in Auburn, NY with @Tour Cayuga and learned SO much about her life that I never knew! 1️⃣ At the Harriet Tubman Home, we learned how Harriet created one of the first homes for the aging. 2️⃣ At the Seward House Museum, we learned how Frances Seward broke the federal Fugitive Slave Act by selling Harriet land—because under the law, transferring property to a self-emancipated person was illegal. 3️⃣ At the Harriet Tubman National Historic Park, we learned how Harriet raised money for her home church to be built. And there is sooo much more!
