Yeah, my mom is abusive as shit and her brother SA me and my stepsister and she still hangs out with him and talk to him. She cares more about him than she does us…. Also, my mother abuser is her own mother, and she still people pleasing the fuck out of her. Also, I’m successful and self-made. My mom is not.

Some people are abused by the abuser into believing they themselves are the abuser - so they don’t understand that they are being abused. They believe that the abuser is their loving and patient family member, partner or friend.

Yeah if they know and continue to hang out with this person that’s not okay but there’s a flavor of abuser that is very charming and presents themselves in a way that if someone doesn’t know the patterns it’s hard to be able to see them as capable of harming someone else.
