@wire_you_mad: Electricity explained — oversimplified, on purpose. 👇 Think of a wire like a garden hose. Voltage = the water pressure. How hard it's pushing. Current = how much water's actually flowing. Resistance = how skinny the hose is. Nothing moves without a closed loop. Power leaves on the hot, comes back on the neutral. A switch is just kinking the hose. A breaker is the safety that trips before the wire catches fire. Ground is the emergency drain — so if something fails, the electricity takes the easy path through the ground wire instead of through you. That's why a bird can sit on a live wire. No loop, no flow, no shock. But you touch a hot wire AND a ground at the same time? Now you're the loop. Pressure. Flow. Loop. Safety. Learn it before the job teaches you. What finally made electricity click for you? 👇 Follow @wire_you_mad for more trade fundamentals ⚡ #electrician #apprentice #trades #bluecollar #viral --- Pinned comment: Pressure, flow, loop, safety — which one took you the longest to actually understand? 👇

The Angry Sparky :
This is false. Electricity takes all paths. If you're going to try to teach it should be correct.

OK, well you’re fired actually because you said after the circuit breaker trips then it opens the loop that’s not true. It closes the loop shut it off. There’s nothing in that run. There’s no electricity in that run of circuit branch circuit.

wrong. to simplify it, voltage is like the diameter of the pipe (how much can flow) and amp are how much preasure it has.

What? Dumb luck :
And just like water pressure, voltage drops more with a skinny pipe at a given PSI vs a larger pipe at the same PSI.

you do not have to be grounded to be shocked. birds dont always get away with landing on high voltage lines. sometimes they die. all you have to do is be at a different potential. high or low. if there's a difference in potential, current will flow.

That’s exactly how I’ve been wiring machinery for 50 years now… It works until electronics are involved and then you have to go into some evil séance cause that’s from evil or outer space

That's how I usually explain it. It flows like water.

someone explained this to me the other day (he's got roughly 25 years in the industry, worked from res to industrial all the way to a nuclear plant. ridiculously good analogy to explain to someone who doesnt know or doesnt understand the theory yet
