@asomdwehenetv: The Eastern Regional Public Relations Officer (PRO) of Ghana Water Limited, Mr Kwadwo Daase, has explained that the discoloured water flowing through the taps of some residents in Akim Oda and its surrounding communities is caused by scale and other deposits being washed away from the pipes after prolonged periods without water flowing through them. According to Mr Daase, the discolouration is not caused by galamsey or any galamsey-related activities, dismissing concerns that illegal mining could be responsible for the condition of the water. He further advised residents experiencing discoloured or polluted water to report the situation to their nearest Ghana Water Limited office for the necessary investigations and rectification. Mr Kwadwo Daase made these revelations while speaking in an interview with AsomdweheneTv, following concerns raised by residents over the quality of water flowing through their taps in Akim Oda and its surrounding areas.
