@juliaivet_: After two years of chasing NO ONE, friends, men, or family, I’ve come to this conclusion: the only person with the power to change absolutely anything in my life is ME. Everything we do is a choice, even our mistakes. And it’s okay to make mistakes, to act out of emotion, or to say things we don’t mean, as long as we’re willing to take accountability, learn, and grow from them. At the end of the day, life has a purpose, and it’s a purpose only YOU can pursue. You can’t spend your life waiting for people to show up for you, choose you, or walk alongside you. Sometimes, the journey God has called you to walk will be a lonely one. There may come a point when He is the only one in your corner, and you have to learn to be okay with that. Because the truth is, you don’t need everyone to believe in you for you to believe in yourself. You don’t need everyone to understand you for you to keep moving forward. So, what do I see when I look in the mirror? I see HER. The woman who kept going when things fell apart. The woman who had to learn some lessons the hard way. The woman who stopped chasing, started choosing herself, and learned to trust God even when she couldn’t see what He was doing.
