imo France is just the “real” version of what’s happening all over the world. more transparent. global politics continue to become more interlinked, and capitalism is clearly failing - the world must respond with a better system. but instead those with infinite power and wealth will hold it by any means

easy answer : french youth is bathed from birth in revolution stories and idealism
as soon as they know how to read, we teach them about standing up to the oppressor
so when they feel oppressed, they rise. and if the president has too much power, they know it and try to take him down so that a new oppressor can't rise as easily

the billionaires in France pay proportionnaly less taxes than the average worker. the government has. A LOT of room to inscrease/improve public services

for the record the ultra rich pay 20% tax while the majority of the population pay 45% tax. It's a very unfair system

One of the best explaination I've seen but there's missing part. Like how capitalism and the state push these violence and are entirely responsible for it (I do not condamn any degradation) or the fact that macron is purposely destroying our social system in favor of the ultra wealthy, growing the debt bigger volontary to justify cuts in public funding

Its pensions. The problem will always be the pensions and until the ppl are willing to accept massive cuts to the pension program it will continue to be a crisis

Another current underlying reason mentioned but not elaborated on. Is the early retirement with a generous pension that increases yearly. While the younger working population is shrinking and low birth rate not replacing the work force. As well as the increase in living costs.

They haven't brought down the 5th republic yet. The fact they're on a 5th republic might suggest YET is the operative word.
