@andydyer196: Tech. Sgt. Ian Patterson of Fort Stewart, Georgia, was a 15-year veteran of the U.S. Air Force who served as a Tactical Air Control Party (TACP) instructor with the 6th Combat Training Squadron. On October 17, 2026, Patterson was one of four service members participating in a pregame rappelling demonstration from the rafters of the Alamodome in San Antonio as part of the University of Texas at San Antonio’s annual Salute to Armed Forces and Veterans game against Navy; he fell roughly 150–170 feet in an uncontrolled descent, was treated on the field, and later died at a local hospital, prompting an investigation by the Air Force. #USAirforce #Airforce #Trainingaccidents #Fatalinjury #texasuniversity
