Miami needs to dominate ND, drop them out of the top 12, miss the playoffs, then the team will vote to not play a bowl, then transition to club football. Done with them.

So if Notre Dame loses to Miami they could still finish 10-2. Their only loses would then be to #1 Miami and # 2 BYU. Good luck trying to justify keeping that resume out of the CFP!

Sadly, it won’t matter next year. Every team that is any good (24 of them) make the playoffs. Reg season games really won’t matter as much. Teams will sit out stars for the last couple of games.

Considering ND just has to be ranked in the top 12 and they have an auto bid they will be in. Even with a loss to Miami that’s not dropping them 8 spots. They’ll have to lose another before they play Miami. With there schedule, a 3 loss ND should NOT be in.

They will make the playoffs by contract. As usual Notre Dame is “Big Hat, No Cattle. Irrelevant for 48 years with a hand picked schedule. The real issue is that they will steal someone else’s bid. The chances of the Notre Dame team I saw against BYU cannot beat a series of top rated teams. They are inferior to Georgia, Alabama, Ohio State and of course Miami. They would be lucky to beat any two of Tennessee, Kentucky, Indiana, Ole Miss, it’s, LSU or Texas.

If Miami wins against ND, no shot the committee puts ND in. If they lose against the only two ranked opponents they face, they will be left out in favor of people that actually won a ranked game.
