@metoffice: A very different week of weather ahead as an active jet stream shifts south and sends low pressure towards the UK. Frequent bouts of rain arriving from the southwest means that the wettest weather will be towards the southwest. We do need the rain so much of this will be useful. Less useful will be the wind. Some deep lows are expected and it will often be windy, especially later this week with some particularly strong winds likely on Friday morning.
