Our vet had us give our guy carprofen pre-swim and it helps. It’s the saddest thing 🥹😭

My GSD mix did this at the river. Poor baby acted like he was dying the day it happened. He was fine within 2 days.

We called it swimmers tail. Mostly from constantly shaking off fully each time out of the water. Muscles they don’t use like that very much.

My lab has an issue with her tail since we’ve had her. You can see there’s a sort of award bend in her tail. We don’t really know what it is but she gets swimmers tail after only a couple of minutes :(

My lab got rudder tail when I was chasing her around the house as a puppy and as it got better it turned into a 90 degree kink when she would poop lol

My husky/lab has this happen to her all the time! I have to take her to the vet every time and get antibiotics and pain medicine to get the swelling to stop. They called it swimmers tail.
