@20vc_tok: Microsoft pulls out of UK’s largest £2BN AI data centre due to severe power supply delays and grid constraints

444mjc :

Great news !! Data centres are absolutely AWFUL!!!

Mr. British :

To put this into perspective. Thats 300,000 houses. AI data centres are a waste.of resources.

Smicker :

Better off without it

prick_stix :

Bye bye

jg :

How would it be sovereign? Microsoft is an American company.

cosmicricey :

so who do you think would pay for the increases in pwer generation and how long do you think it takes to build a plant big enough and safe enough. we really lucked out as the UK would make no money off this

Martin Bennett :

Can’t they employ millions of mice running on wheels that generates energy … 🥸

Burger man :

brilliant news

jessivqi15m :

ydontu :

Regardless of your feelings about AI and data centers, we really do need to seriously consider nuclear power, we don't have a viable alternative.

Bao Tran :

This is a great news

Sharmanator :

They need to generate their own energy

Bob Harris :

loooooooool

nickkyboyG :

We can't run a 90 MW data centre 🤣 Thanks to net zero we already have energy shortages

Angry Haggis :

it's ok loud headphones have been banned on buses and trains.

jakatta1 :

The remaining 23 datacentres need to be put on hold until each project submits a meaningful independent source of energy AND water without encroaching on existing resources

Seby :

Yeah I live basically right next to it and basically no one in the area wants it here, we already have water problems all the time.

Lostmykeys :

Ed miliband is blocking is investment aswell

Fffffff :

It was for the best. It would’ve cost us so much money in electricity alone it’s not worth it
