43 married 17 years no kids very happy nice comfortable life but since I turned 40 I’m over the celebrating other people been to two weddings this year both cost an absolute fortune…..this is going to make me sound so mean but I think our friends and family think that we adore their children and the lonely uncle and auntie just love to spoil these kids we do not love it …..I’m so fed up spending money on Christmas and birthdays and it’s expected of us to buy really good presents …..they think us being child free means it’s so nice for us to spoil these kids …..we couldn’t give a frig about kids …..I have already told my husband I’m done with christenings and weddings my husband will turn 50 in a few years and I can already hear the excuses about not having baby sitters if we throw him a party …..sometimes we need to be selfish and put ourselves first

completely relate to this, I'm 55 now and have never been married and don't have children. Never thought it wouldn't happen for me and it's taken a long time to come to terms with it. People don't really talk about it, I think they assume you're ok with it but in reality it's like grieving 😢

I’ve been feeling this a lot lately. I’ve tried to arrange a short trip for next year with my friends. I’ve been clear part of the reason for it is that I won’t have the usual big events. The response has been underwhelming 😔

Threw myself a huge party this year when I turned 50. I decided I wanted a turn and I was the only one that was gonna make it happen. No regrets, I highly recommend! Celebrate yourselves 🎉
