As a person who grew up in California in area where Black Widows were comon I can say that the webs are a sign. Black Widow webs are very distinct and unmistakable. Spiders live within the web so unless you reach in you won't get bit. The biggest issue is Black Widows often build webs in shoes or gardening gloves left on the ground.

In CA, flip over your kids stuff that was left outside - slides, ride on cars, etc. You’ll find them.

My fiancée and I currently have a black and brown widow infestation they are shabanging hardcore bc we keep annihilating them and finding eggsacs we live by a mountain here in AZ and I noticed with the storms recently they showed up a ton 😭 if yall wanna get rid of them instantly brake cleaner for your brakes help instantly instead of bug killer 😭

One day I was going to take my recycling bin out to the curb and I had this really paranoid thought that there was a black widow under the handle of the bin and there definitely was and she was guarding an egg sac. so anyways, that’s when my OCD really started to take off

We had a beautiful girl who made her web INSIDE our parcel locker at our mailbox in Spokane, WA. She definitely surprised me when I opened it up but I’m just grateful she was visible so I could help her out where she wouldn’t get hurt 🥰

She isn't explaining much. They are shy and non aggressive and try to make their webs in undisturbed low places. Not always the ground. In California they loved water meter boxes. I used to lift the lids to see them.

Worked HVAC in Southern Cali for 5 years. I found webs and black widows inside condenser units all the time. Have to be super aware of where you are putting your hands

We have brown widow eggs in the patio furniture and the landlord won’t remove them. I called the city and the guy told me there’s nothing they can do to remove them [Laugh approved]

Their webs are very distinct and they DO NOT only make their webs on the ground. Also, it’s almost a 0% chance of dying from a black widow.
