🇨🇦 OTTAWA JUST VOTED TO REMOVE TRUMP’S NAME FROM A STREET — AND THE DECISION IS SPARKING DEBATE! 🇺🇸 A street named Trump Avenue in Ottawa, Canada, is set to get a new name after the city council unanimously voted to begin the renaming process on September 23, 2026. 👀 But here’s the surprising part: the street wasn’t originally named as a political statement. It was named more than two decades ago, when Donald Trump was primarily known as a New York real estate developer. The surrounding Central Park neighborhood also features streets inspired by New York City. Now, amid growing tensions between Canada and the United States, the name has taken on a very different meaning. Ottawa city councillors say the street’s name would not meet the city’s current criteria for commemorative naming. Councillor Riley Brockington described the decision as “a new beginning” for residents. The decision doesn’t mean the street has already been fully renamed. The city must still work through the process of selecting a new name and updating official records. Still, this is more than just a street sign. It raises a bigger question about how places are named, how public figures are remembered, and whether a name that once seemed appropriate can become controversial over time. 🔥 NOW THE BIG QUESTION: Was Ottawa right to make this decision, or should a street name remain unchanged regardless of political disagreements? 👇 COMMENT “RIGHT CALL” OR “KEEP THE NAME” — AND TELL US WHY!
