this was my story 😭 my both parents didn't want me. my mom kept telling me, "don't come and spoil my marriage oooo." I sponsored myself through university and lived off campus. I had nowhere to travel for holidays and strikes. I stayed in that my one room off campus until one day my landlord asked, if I had no family at all. Honestly, I don't know if I'm healed or not because, right now I still feel somehow.

Some of our parents had the wrong perspective about life. Growing up, my parents seriously warned me to navigate life with wisdom. They said, "Do not let your child out of your life, especially when you are the biological father." Other parents say different things, not because they are bad, but because they just don't know the best way to communicate with their children. Dear fathers, it's fine to hustle for money, but please build a strong relationship with your children.

This is very painful for me as a teens teacher and a mentor to the younger generation, especially my daughters (female mentees). This thought crossed my mind again this morning, and I felt so grieved by the way we treat people. 😞 I know what these young people go through, and I have noticed that we believers often lack sympathy and empathy. My observation is that the Church frequently fails to act like Christ. God is LOVE. Jesus even said, "If you look at Me, you will see God." Through Him, you see just how much God desires and loves you. We often preach about love while emphasizing service and soul-winning. However, the real proof of our love for God is how we love others (John 4:19). When you truly love people, you will easily win their souls to Christ without stress.

Hmmmm when i was much younger, I spoke to a pastor about something I was going through and guess what? He told my mum😅 Thinking about it now is so funny to me, but I cried about it at that time. Pastors are meant to be safe spaces (and the church generally), but its sad that we get even more rejected from them. I pray God helps us to extend the hand of compassion to people. May God expand our heart of love in Jesus name. Declassified has been a really amazing podcast I always look forward to. God bless you, AFL sir.
