@newdlenews: Elon Musk says he’ll give one of his own SpaceX shares to every kid in America in 2027, a giveaway worth about $10.5 billion. He announced the pledge on X on Monday and called it the “first of many.” He said the shares would come from his personal stake, not newly issued company stock. The math: Census data put about 72 million U.S. residents under 18. Seventy-two million shares would be just over 1% of the 6.42 billion SpaceX shares he disclosed owning as of June 30. The post came about 12 hours after Anthropic said it would put 5% of its shares into a new public benefit fund. Musk responded by telling the company to give shares “directly to the public.” Anthropic says about 20% of its shares are now earmarked for public-benefit purposes.
