They haven’t developed the emotional capacity, awareness, or integrity to hold the kind of love you’re offering. And that’s not something you can fix by loving them harder. You can have compassion for someone and still recognize that they are not meant to have access to you. You can forgive someone without inviting them back into your life. You can wish someone healing without making their healing your responsibility. And you can walk away knowing that you never needed to prove your worth in the first place. I’ve spent so much of my life learning how to let go. Letting go of people, expectations, old beliefs, and versions of myself that thought love had to be earned. And the more I let go, the more I come home to myself. To peace. To freedom. To gratitude. To the simple miracle of being alive. So if you’re reading this and questioning your worth because of the way someone treated you, I hope you remember: You are not difficult to love because someone struggled to love you. You are not less valuable because someone failed to recognize your value. And you do not have to dim your light to make someone else comfortable. You are already whole. You are already worthy. You are already enough. The right people won’t require you to abandon yourself to be loved. Keep shining. Keep healing.
